The geographic lay-out of the Feral District is a small peninsula along the ocean, so the shipping of imports and exports is a major factor of its economic viability.  As expected, the docks are rife with crime and corruption.

There are two areas of the docks that are equipped for freighters and large-scale operations: the West docks and the North docks.  Each is controlled by a different criminal syndicate, and turf-wars are common between the two.

The West docks are controlled by Taurus Imperium, which is run by two Bull-anthro brothers.

The North docks are controlled by Black Eclipse, which is run by a Wolf-anthro.

THE DOCKS

The ghetto is a dismal wasteland of filthy streets, broken-down builings, and dangers around every corner.  Obviously, only the extremely poor with no other option live here.

Street-crime is the norm here, practically a matter of survival for those who live in the Wasteland.  A myriad of small street-gangs operate here and seem to always be at each other's throats.

GHETTO ("WASTELAND")
THE FACTORY ("STEEL PLANTATION")

Given the lack of civil rights legislation for anthros, many companies and government institutions exploit them.  The half-breeds can often do more labor-intensive work given their strength and feral stamina, and have no choice but to work for less wages.

It is for this reason that the area is nick-named the Steel Plantation.  While it is a massive industrial complex that employs many anthros, the work is grueling and offers poor wages.

Many companies have set up factories in the area, and nearly all of them run and managed by humans.  The vast majority of employed anthros are labor-workers or tradesmen.

World Setting

Present time, modern day.  The world is normal, with one exception: anthros exist. They are rare and consist of a very small minority of the population (less than 1%).

Because anthros are such a minority and so different from humans, they lack many civil rights.  Its common and legal for people or businesses to discriminate against them. The social milieu would be similar to that for minorities during the 1930s-1940s.

The Feral District

Densely populated major cities often have enough of an anthro population that they congregate in a certain section of the city, commonly referred to as the District.  Anthros are not confined in the District and can travel where they like, but the cultural milieu and government-mandated zoning practices makes it much easier for anthros to live (and often work) within the District.  This roleplay setting is in just such a District of a major U.S. metropolis.  Called the Feral District, it is home to a few thousand anthros of various breeds.

Atmosphere: It is a highly industrialized and gritty part of the city.  The majority of the district is dark and foreboding, a place where deep-seated urban decay has set into its foundations.

Population: The District is the home for about 3,000 anthros, making the Feral District the most densely anthro-populated District in the world.  Many humans live here as well, usually as a result of poverty.  The District is approximately 50% anthros and 50% humans.
